Marketing Awards

The Merriam Visitors Bureau brought home two marketing awards from the Kansas Tourism Conference in October. The Merriam Visitor Guide won best in-house guide (medium budget) for the fourth straight year, and the new website, www.exploremerriam.com won for best online media.

A record number of entries were submitted from destinations across the state this year and judged by a panel of tourism and marketing professionals before the conference. Judges' comments about Merriam's entries speak to the quality content, visual appeal and helpful information of Merriam's communication pieces.

Judges' comments for the visitor guide include:

  • Love the cover! I love the kids’ games in the guide-how cool!
  • Love the strategic moves you made to accommodate both the community and advertisers due to the pandemic. The easy to see buttons on the landing page are great - allowing visitors the easiest methods through which to request a guidebook! The colors and design are lively and refreshing - always a good one, Merriam!
