What are some examples of history here in Merriam?

One of the most pivotal moments in Merriam's history is the site of the former Walker School. Currently the Philadelphia Baptist Church, this building was rife with struggle in the years leading to Brown v. Board of Education when local activist, Esther Brown, fought to end segregation in the South Park area of Merriam.
