The City doesn't not own or operate a recycling center. All trash haulers who operate in the City of Merriam are required to offer recycling as part of their services. Since items accepted for recycling vary by hauler, check with your trash provider to see what items are approved for recycling pickup. If you are interested in finding other recycling venues, please visit the Mid-America Regional Council's "RecycleSpot" website. This site allows you to search by product or location to find recycling centers throughout the metropolitan area.
Residential burning permits may be obtained at no costs; all burn permits are issued by the Overland Park Fire Department. Please call 913-888-6066 or apply for a burn permit online.
