Swim Lessons

Merriam Community Center Indoor Pool to Close as a Result of the Order

Due to the increase of coronavirus cases in the Kansas City region, Johnson County health officials on Friday issued a public health order to help control the spread of COVID-19. The order starts Monday, Nov. 16, and goes through Jan. 31, 2021.

The swim lesson program for the City of Merriam is all inclusive and specific for each child’s individual skill set and needs. Every session will go into skills necessary for that age group as well as lifesaving/safety skills. You will register your child based on age required for each group. Do not worry about whether your child is Level 1 or Level 2. For our Preschool and Youth lessons we use class levels to ensure your Child is placed according to his/ her ability. Children are evaluated at the beginning of each session and placed in the appropriate class based on demonstrated ability. Children should be able to work with an instructor and participate in swim lessons independently and willingly.
