Accepted Entries for the 2018 High School Visual Arts Competition

Accepted artwork should be hand delivered to the Irene B. French Community Center November 12 – 25. All accepted works are required to stay in the art gallery from the day it is delivered until the last day of the show. No substitutions allowed!

Opening Night Reception


Please join us for the opening night reception Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the Irene B. French Community Center from 7:00-8:30pm for artists accepted into the exhibit. Show runs December 6 - 29, 2018. 

Call for Artist

 


The 22th Annual High School Visual Arts Competition was created to show case the talent of high school students currently attending high school or home schooled in the Kansas City Area. Area high school artists may submit three pieces of artwork for consideration. The categories are 2D, 3D, Photography and Computer Generated art. Prizes are given to the top three pieces in each category.

How to Enter


Images
Artist must submit images of their artwork in JPG format. Images must be smaller than 1MB or they will not be accepted. Selection will be made from images. Submit only one image per piece. Students may enter more than one category but they are limited to three total entries.
 
Excel Spreadsheet
The following information must be submitted on an excel spreadsheet:
Student's First Name, Student's Last Name, Student's home address, City, State, Zip Code, School, Title of Work, Image File Name, Size of Work, Instructor and Instructor's email. Template of excel file.

Submission
Images and Excel spreadsheet must be submitted on a CD, flash drive or via Dropbox by Thursday, October 25. Instructors should coordinate submissions of their students. The CD or flash drive may be dropped off or mailed to the Merriam Parks & Recreation Department, 5701 Merriam Dr., Merriam, KS 66203.
